Walking With God - Part 4 True Signs of the New Birth

 SCRIPTURE: II Corinthians 5:l7 - 'Whoever from now on is a follower of Christ is a 'new creation'; old things have passed away and all things have become new.' It simply isn't good enough for a man or woman to claim to be 'born again' or 'born from above' without their being an accompanying evidence of such a new life.

 It just isn't justified if there are no signs to support the claim. Those who have been born again have the same signs as a human newborn only has become a newborn child of God. His in-breathing now should start to come from God. He should so want to share his new witness coming from God through him. They will experience a deep hunger for the Word - seeking to learn all they can about the person who has come to dwell with them. They will be joyous and a new sense of contentment will fill them. By degrees, you should see a change of heart that has come over them full of compassion and a new love for others. If these simple signs are missing, we have every reason to question their claim that they have been born again, of knowing God, or have fellowship with Him who is likewise Spirit. 

It is sad that in our churches today, we have many 'stillborn babies'. There is no aliveness, no growth, no walking with God, no maturing, no understanding, even as to the concept. There old vices still continue in absence of any true new life. A daily diet of spending time with the Master in praise, worship, in reading His Word, and talking to Him and allowing Him to speak to us, one-on-one, as dear friends will bring amazing changes in the newborn Christian's life. 

The old world's ways of the flesh type of life with its loose morality, self- indulgences, selfish behavior, and the hatreds and bitternesses, the rivalry all becomes just to be memories from the past life. In their place, the wind of the Holy Spirit and God's very Presence will bring goodness, honesty, compassion, a great love for God and mankind, self-sharing, wholesomeness, integrity, and purity will surround us. Your whole life will begin to show forth the very Presence of God in your life. Thus, a new creation in Christ has been born. 

Bottom line...It is God communing with the spirit of man that leads us to 'eternal life'...to know and walk in Him. Hallelujah!!! Always remember - 'Ask and ye shall receive...Seek and ye shall find...Knock and the door will be opened unto you.' Ask the Lord to give you that assurance and leave it to Him how He will give you that assurance...that your sins have been forgiven and that you now are a child of God. And, in the same fashion, He can assure you of His Spirit and Presence coming and has taken up residence with you and in you. 

As the Word says, 'The Spirit of the Lord will come upon you and you shall be 'changed into another man'. I Samuel l0:6 I pray many will seek all that our Lord has for us today. This New Birth is not a Pentecostal thing as many shrug and turn away. But, it is God's will for His church. In that will of the Father, as we are in the Last Days, it's so important that we decide to open our hearts to the true will of God so He can complete His work in and through us. Where there was one, now, there will be two. And, all that God has been and will be will simply come into dwell with us and we will see Him for who He is in all His Glory.
